It’s time for our next tasting & this time something a bit different from our normal rotation of countries…

…to tie in with The Real Wine Month promotion we’ll be tasting some individual natural wines from France, Italy, Chile & Argentina.

An increasing number of people are seeking out more minimal intervention, ‘real’ wines from smaller winemakers. Here at The Village Vine, we have always stocked mainly artisan wines from these very producers, although not all would fall under the ‘natural’ wine bracket.

So, it’s great to have a national promotion to support these proud winemakers (wines very unlikely to be found in the supermarkets…!)

Remember, in order to spread the tasting wines evenly, they are limited to 2 btls. (of each) max. purchase on the day, but of course will be available (in varying quantity) thereafter.

As usual we’ll kick-off around 2pm and end up at 7pm. It’s a ‘free, walk-in’ tasting and a good chance to sample something ‘new’, or perhaps a bit different from your normal choice.

Wine Tasting Saturday 16th February!

FREE Wine Tasting: This Saturday in store 2-7pm!

It’s time for our next tasting & this time we’re heading back to the New World to look at some great wines from South Africa…

Often overlooked by the better-known offerings from Oz & N.Z., wines from this historic wine-producing country arguably produce better value-for-money than the Antipodeans and their wines tend to show a style somewhere between the ‘Old World & the ‘New World’.

We’ll start things off with a new sparkling rosé from our fairtrade producer, Thandi, followed by 2 whites and 2 reds, including a gold medal-winner and a highly rated newcomer from Rustenberg.

Fantastic Winter Wine Savings!

We have some genuinely fantastic offers on our wines at the moment!

Chapel Hill Chardonnay is down from £15.95 to only £7.95 – save 50%! This Australian wine from McLaren Vale is an elegant creation of great finesse and style. It’s a perfect accompaniment to fish and wine doesn’t come any better at this price.

From New Zealand, Prophet’s Rock Pinot Gris was £18.95. Now it’s just over half price at £9.95 and is a real treat for lover’s of pinot grigio! If you have the patience, you can even cellar this wine for another four or five years…

Looking ahead to warmer weather, we have a great bargain in the Yalumba Sangiovese Rosé. Some of you may remember we used to stock this a year and a half ago. Now the same vintage has returned at the rock bottom price of £5.95!

Italian Wine Tasting, Saturday 20th October!

Our wine tasting for October will be showcasing some new Italian wines.

As usual, it’s a free walk-in tasting with no obligation to buy on the day (although all tasting wines will have 10% off!). There will be 6 wines on tasting with a range to suit all tastes.

Spanish Wine Tasting this Saturday!

We have lined up an exciting range of wines this month for a Spanish Wine Tasting! Hopefully sunny Spanish wines will cheer you up after an unforgettable summer…(again..!)

We’re always striving to find new, quality-led, interesting wines from lesser-known areas so this month we have chosen 6 from the north-west and north-east of Spain.

The tasting will be THIS Saturday, Saturday 15th September!

Most are from local varieties, showing the best from these regions. 5 of them are new arrivals!
